It’s time to celebrate the winter season in beautiful Vermont! Us Vermonter’s typically don’t complain about the snow. We enjoy it. Who’s with me?
I heard the Trapp Family Lodge, pictured above, received the perfect amount of snow – nice!
My bet is the folks at the Stowe Mountain Resort were also happy. Time to get the skis out! When you do, check out the Spruce Camp Base Lodge. It’s has an awesome, octagon timber frame that we’re proud to have constructed.
The Tram House Lodge at Jay Peak is another snow covered timber frame worth checking out. The exterior of the building has timber trusses at each gable and dormer. There’s also a timber porte cochere by Vermont Timber Works. See if you can tell the difference between the glulams and the natural timbers!
There’s more to do than just ski at the resorts in Vermont. There’s also snowboarding, tubing, snow shoeing, ice skating, and sleight rides. Jay Peak even has an indoor water park!
I’m not sure if this timber frame home covered in snow is slope side, but it should be.
Although Juno didn’t bring as much snow to our area as expected, a few businesses did take a snow day, just in case. The Badger Mines closed up, and you know they all went skiing, sledding, skating or what not! Right Bill?
Did you know that the Badger building is a hybrid structure which combines timber framing with conventional framing?
Back to the snow – what can I say? Whether you love it or not so much, it is what’s expected this time of year.
We work all year long. The snow doesn’t stop us! So if you have a timber frame project in mind, or any timber work questions, we invite you to get in contact, ask an expert, or share your thoughts in the comment section below!
Oh look – it’s snowing again!!
We have personally seen the Spruce Camp Ski Lodge and the timber frame is stunning, Sandy is right, don’t forget to look up in the great room.
